Lekshmi and Will first met while working on the same internal medicine team at the hospital. Will was known for his quiet nature, while Lekshmi’s sweet and talkative personality brightened up the team.

One day, Will decided to break the ice. He reached out to Lekshmi over text and, with a mix of nerves and a hint of humor, asked about her floral residency picture, “Did they take your residency photo in a flower bed?” Lekshmi was initially confused by the unusual question but soon realized it was his attempt at flirting. Conversation began to flow from there.

As they got to know each other, they discovered a shared love for music, which sparked deeper conversations and a strong connection. Their first date hiking at Cedar Ridge Preserve was still a bit awkward, but over time, the initial nervousness gave way to comfort and genuine companionship. Better (and less humid) memories were made at Rise over soufflés, where the first “I love you” was said and eventually a ring was exchanged.

Most recently, their relationship has been joined by a particularly vocal cat, Apollo, adding even more joy and laughter to their lives. Now, they’re excited to share their journey from colleagues to life partners with all of you.
